Sarvar is located in the delta of the Gyongyos and is rich in history. Sarvar is also one of the most touristic towns in western Hungary. Sarvar is in a perfect position on the banks of the River Raba in Western Transdanubia and is home to the thermal springs which is the pulse of the countries thermal tourism. One of the city's most famous landscapes is the recently restored Nadasdy Castle, which hosts numerous festivals, concerts and fairs. You will be amazed by the rich flora and fauna of Sarvar, where 300 tree and shrub species can be found. Located in the western part of Hungary, Sarvar has a charming atmosphere with its botanical gardens, thermal pools, luxury SPA centers, past defying architectures, majestic castles, rivers, parks and natural habitats. Sarvar Castle is located in the heart of the city and dates back to the end of the 13th century. Built in the Renaissance period, this magnificent castle reflects baroque style architecture. The museum is located in the castle and you can learn about the history of Sarvar and the Hungarian ''Huszars'' history between 1526-1945 in the museum. After visiting the museum with an exhibition area of ​​1300 square meters, you can go to the Mud Fortress (Mud Castle). Thermal tourism in Hungary is not one of the first things to come to mind but the reputation of the thermal springs in Sarvar has spread across the country and spread all over the world. Sarvar SPA Center has 16 thermal pools with a depth of 200-1200 meters. You can visit between 08.00-22.00 every day and there is a hammam, sauna, beauty salon, swimming pool, bowling, TB treatment rooms and an adventure park. In the Sarvar Adventure Park you can participate in a zipline tour and other activities. The botanical garden which is also known as the Sarvar Arboretum is home to several small lakes and gardens. The Sarvar Arboretum which has hosted visitors since the 16th century, is a great place to have a picnic in the shade of trees older than 400 years. You can also visit the River Raba as well as the castle and the forest where endemic plants can be found. There is also the possibility to ride horses along the edge of the River Raba on the road to Gyor. Every year in mid July the Nadasdy Historical Festival is held and in August you can make your Sarvar trip more enjoyable by following the latest events calendar of the International Folkdays Festival, where the performances of dance groups from around the world are on display. The Nadasdy Historical Festival which has been organized regularly since 2009, is characterized by the revival of events that play a major role in the history of the city. Nadasdy Castle is one of the most spectacular examples of Hungarian Renaissance architecture and was built in the 15th century. You can visit the Great Hall section of the castle to see wall paintings depicting images from the Old Testament and see the spectacular ceiling frescoes. If you come at the right time you can also watch outdoor theater performances in the castle courtyard. Sarvar is 25 kilometers east of Szombathely and has sunny weather throughout the year so you can travel at anytime of the year.
