The airport which was constructed in 1931 within the boundaries of Indianapolis, the biggest city in the state of Indiana of the United States of America, served Air Forces of the United States of America during the Second World War. The name of the airport, which had been called Indiana Municipal Airport until 1976, was changed to Indianapolis International Airport after this year. The airport terminal building was renewed and expanded first in 1972 and then in 1987. Some sections were rebuilt in 2008 in order to give the terminal building of the airport a new look. Every year, an average of eight and a half million passengers and one million tons of cargo are carried from Indianapolis International Airport.

Getting to the City Center from Indianapolis Intl. Airport

There are many different ways of getting to the city center from Indianapolis International Airport.
