About Demanovska dolina

Demanovska Dolina was officially founded in 1964 and is a municipality in Liptovsky Mikulas in the Zilina Region of Slovakia. Perfectly situated in the Demanovska Valley, the area is well known for the Demanovska Cave of Liberty and the Demanovska Ice Cave and the village is one of the most visited places in Slovakia. The Liptov region which known as the heart of Slovakia is situated between the Low and High Tatra Mountains. The stalactites and stalagmites of the Demanovska Ice Cave in the northern part of the Low Tatra Mountains in the Liptov region are so impressive that you will not be able to take your eyes off them. You must climb for about 20 minutes to the entrance of the cave called cliff ''Basta''. Along the way you will see resting places and educational panels. It is possible to say that the total length of the visit is 850 meters. Entry to the Demanovska Ice Cave is 7 euros for adults and 3.50 euros for children. You can reach the cave by a short bus journey by taking a bus from Liptovsky Mikulas and getting off at Demanovska Dolina - Ladova Jaskyna bus stop. In Slovak the ice cave is called Demanovska Ladova Jaskyna and was first discovered in 1299 and is one of the oldest caves in Europe. The Demanovska Cave of Liberty is one of the most visited caves in Slovakia. The length of the path to the entrance is 400 meters which will take you about 10 - 15 minutes and is at an altitude of 870 meters. The average temperature in the Demanovska Cave of Liberty is 6.1-7 Celsius. You can choose between a traditional tour and a long tour. During the traditional tour you will climb an average of 913 steps and the tour route is of 1150 meters. The Long tour you will visit ''The Pink Hall'' and ''The King's Gallery'' with impressive decorations and you will have the opportunity to photograph the Great Dome which is the largest underground space in Slovak Show caves. The entrance fee to the Demanovska Cave of Liberty is 7 euros (traditional tour) and 14 euros (long tour) for adults. Founded in 1921 in the Low Tatra Mountains, the Demanovska Cave of Liberty was opened to the public in 1924. Thermal Park Besenova is considered as one of the best aquaparks in Europe and has a sauna, jacuzzi, wave pool, children's pools and more. Liptovska Mara Dam (reservoir) is the ideal place for water sports and boat tour activities and is surrounded by majestic mountains both from the north and south. There are also cycling and jetski rental locations around the dam. Aquapark Tatralandia is one of the largest aquaparks in Central Europe and is open to visitors throughout the year with its indoor and outdoor pools. The resort has a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, pool etc are some of the facilities available on site.
