About Chaweng

Chaweng is in the northeast of the Koh Samui region of Thailand. The city is dynamic at night with entertainment such as dance shows, overflowing music and fireworks and is a haven for sea lovers during the day. The city has quite a large potential for tourism with streets filled with restaurants, bars and nightclubs, and 7-kilometers of sandy coastline. It’s quite a popular destination for honeymooning couples.

Chaweng has beautiful coral reefs that can be explored by both snorkeling and scuba diving. The water temperature varies from 25 to 28 degrees throughout the year. Chaweng Beach is the longest beach in Koh Samui, consisting of three sections: north, south and center. The northern part is protected against high waves by coastal reefs, while the center is more crowded than the others because of restaurants, bars and shops around the beach. The southern beach is separated from the central beach by cliffs and most of these cliffs are filled with resorts hosting honeymooners and families. Chaweng Beach has a wide variety of water sports, and lots of activities you can do in the water, the most popular of which are probably the water slides or boat tours, but just taking a long walk on the beach to watch the sunset is just as satisfying.

One of the most pampering features of the city is having a Thai massage, which is big part of Thai culture. The economy of the city is almost exclusively drawn from tourism and consequently there are many spas and massage parlors here. Thai and Malay delicacies dominate the food scene of the city, and many tropical fruits and all kinds of seafood are in full abundance here.

Chaweng is just 10 minutes away from Samui Airport. You can rent a car or just take a taxi to get to the city from the airport.
