About Cefalu

Cafelu, whose origin dates back to Roman Empire, is a city in the Province of Palermo and now also among one of the most important tourism centres of Italy and Europe. Following the Roman Empire, the town was in the borders of Byzantine Empire, and hosted various civilizations. In Cefalu, which joined the Kingdom of Italy in the mid 19. centuries, Cefalù Cathedral amazes the visitors with its  Norman architectural style and its historic fabric, whereas Lavatoio Medievale reflects the roots of medieval era. Mandralisca Museum displays not only the vases and henges made in the prehistorical period, but also extraordinary paintings and mounted animals. In Cefalu, which is a small town with a population around 13 thousand people, winter season is warm whereas the summer is pretty hot.
