About Barbuda

Barbuda, which is one of the twin islands in the Eastern Caribbean, is an island where about 1,600 people live according to the data of 2011. The majority of the population lives in Codrington region of the island. Barbuda, which is located in the north of Antigua Island, is situated in the middle of the Leeward Islands. Other interesting places on the island of Barbuda, which is home to Frigate Bird Sanctuary in the Codrington Lagoon, include the Highland House, the house of the Codrington family in the 18th century and the Indian Cave hosting ancient Indian drawings.

The beaches of the island, which is convenient for tourism thanks to its climate and geographical features, are frequently visited by tourists. The bird sanctuary on the island, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and spelunking activities are also very popular among tourists. There are only two accommodation centers on the island because of the occasional hurricanes. On the island, where the tropical marine climate is effective, small seasonal changes are experienced. January and February are the coldest months and the average temperature is 28 degrees. From June to August, the temperature is about 30 degrees.
